Stoneyburn and Bents Community web-site

Stoneyburn and Bents Future Vision Group and the Management Committee of the Community Centre have agreed to “join forces” and have one community web-site that covers the activities of both groups.   The basic aim of both groups is to improve facilities for the village and to provide opportunities that will benefit all residents of the village.  By having input from both groups we will be able to keep residents bang up-to-date with what is happening in the village and it is our intention to have this information available at all times via a screen in the Community Centre,

Stoneyburn Community Education Association Management Committee is responsible for the management of the Community Centre which celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2011.

The Management Committee is elected annually from Centre Members, representatives from Groups that use the centre and from representatives from other groups within the community that use the premises for meetings.

The object of the Management Committee is to advance education and to provide, or assist in the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation, where such provision or assistance in provision is:

i)    in the interest of Social Welfare; and

ii)   made with the object of improving the conditions of life of the members of the community in the area of benefit

Stoneyburn and Bents Future Vision Group was formed in February 2011.  The management Committee is elected annually from interested members of the village.

Our Aims are:

to improve facilities and provide educational and recreational opportunities for groups of all ages within the village

to encourage the village's community spirit and build pride in an attractive environment

to create effective means for Stoneyburn residents, groups, agencies, schools and businesses to communicate and work effectively together

to create an environment that increases health, happiness, respect, confidence and success and encourages residents to take part in village life.
